Crystal socket, FT-171 (4 mm pins) for Cash Box Mk-VII
Reproduction of the crystal sockets similar the ones McMurdo and Amphenol made and were used in the Cash Box model.
The problem with making the replicas of the crystal sockets, such as those of McMurdo and Amphenol, are the stamped metal contact springs.
Parasetguy has succeeded in making a design in which round metal bushes with screw thread can be used. The result is a solid connection but also, when built into a front panel, an appearance that can pass for original.
NOTE: Remove the soldering eyes from the socket before soldering the wires to prevent melting of the plastic.
